our weekend

I honestly can't believe that it is Tuesday!
Our long (HOT) weekend went by super fast and now it is already the middle of the week.

The main reason for our traveling was Jake's annual canoe trip with some old friends, but we also celebrated a birthday, visited family and I did a little work. We left Friday morning for Jake's folks house. I did a little consulting Friday afternoon, Jake went grocery shopping (he is in charge of all the meal planning and prepping for the guys) and we celebrated my father-in-law's birthday Friday evening. Then Jake stayed up really late to get all the food ready. The next morning the guys began to gather, and by around noon they were ready to go. We drove out with them to see them off.



Sunday afternoon we got the call they were ready for pick-up. Jake's dad and I headed out to meet them. They loaded up and we headed back to town. The rest of the day was spent cleaning up the canoes, unpacking and unwinding. Monday we traveled back home.
